With 3 double bedrooms and within walking distance of the centre of Carcassonne . There is easy access to the Languedoc and Ariege and it is only 10 minutes from the airport. Ideal for local markets and all facilities nearby. Competitively priced at 320 euros low season and 420 euros peak season.

Old fashioned "french" houses like this are rare and this is good value for a quiet family holiday.

What is special about the house and who usually comes to stay?

It is clean, cool and an ideal base for exploring the City, the Languedoc and the Ariege. The location is quiet and secure. There is easy parking and the central station is 5 minutes away ( that is also where the airport bus would drop you off or collect you if you do not have a car). There are 3 decent sized bedrooms to sleep 6 people so we get families and groups.

There is a small shaded garden/terrace where you can eat your meals outside.

But please remember that there is no swimming pool and no TV.

Carcassonne is a great base to explore the land of the Cathars. A short drive from the coast you can also reach the Pyrenees and Andorra is nearby.

Carcassonne, the walled City is a world heritage site and there are plenty of local events.Jousting, music festivals and plenty of tourist attractions make sure that you will return from your holidays with good memories.

Close by there are lakes for swimming and boating.Lac de Cavayere, Pradelle in the Montagne Noire and Lac de Montbel all offer a chance to escape into the country and swim in cool clear lakes.

The house is owned by a French couple who will always give you a warm and traditional welcome. During your stay they can be contacted for help, and they love to share their considerable knowledge of local history, culture and the best places to eat and drink.They will also help you plan your holiday travels around the Languedoc and the South of France.

The airport at Salvaza is just 10 minutes drive away.You may also fly into Toulouse ( 90 kms), Narbonne ( 60 kms ) or Barcelona ( 270 kms).Car hire at the airport, is easy and can be arranged at reasonable prices.
