The Walled City - La Cite

This is the part of Carcassonne which everyone comes to see. This is the UNESCO site with those magnificent walls and views.

This picture shows the view as you look towards the pedestrian bridge which you walk across from the old town on the way to La Cite. Image attribution is at the bottom of this page.

When you walk around the walled City you will see Cassoulet advertised by the restaurants.

We have a short page about Cassoulet which is probably almost the dish of the cathars ( well for modern marketing purposes that is!). And of course when it gets very hot there are plenty of places to stop for ice cream.
