Fenouilledes,Languedoc, South of France |
The Fenouilledes, a hot land with limestone hills and red vineyards with the Agly river running through it.In the middle of this land sits Ansignan with a genuine working Roman Aquaduct.A lovely place for a picnic beside the cool waters looking out over the vinyards. Aquaduct photo ring. To see the Roman Aquaduct follow the photo ring. To the South of the Fenouilledes are the much photographed Les Orgues. A wonderful formation formed by differential erosion of the limestone and clay. To the west of the Fenouilledes the land rises dramatically towards Pic Canigou as well as the Capcir and the Cerdagne. You can stay at Vernet -les- Bains and take a trip on the yellow train.
