Les Orgues, Languedoc, South of France

Les Orgues can be reached by driving along the N116 to Ille-sur-tet.The tall columns of sand and clay on top of limestone have been eroded to make a amazing rock formation which is often photographed with the Canigou massif in the back ground.

Les Orgues are approximately two hours drive from the holiday cottage in Carcassonne.The area is very dry and the hills are covered in old gnarled trees. Sitting quietly it is easy to imagine you are living a hundred years ago and the world has not changed.
