Car hire - Carcassonne airport
We wanted to hire a basic car with air conditioning.Essentially a Polo or similar size. For peak season the rates were around the £270 to £290 for 14 days. However by using the easyjet links ( on their website) we were able to reduce this to £250.
There are two car hire firms at Salvaza airport , Europcar and Hertz. Their kiosk is just outside the main entrance. When you arrive it is best to go there as soon as possible as the queues can be large and with no air conditioning the kiosk can get very hot.
Returning the car was no problem...just handed in the key.Our car wasn't checked on the spot.
ps make sure that the car is refilled before you bring it back, otherwise you will get an unwelcome bill.
