The map below shows La Bastide ( the main part of Carcassonne) and in the bottom right hand corner La Cite...the ancient walled castle.

Our holiday house is at the top of the map , just between the D and the E of Bastide.You can see a little below and to the left of the cottage is the Gare SNCF alongside the Canal du Midi.If you come into Carcassonne from the first exit on the Autoroute from the coast then you will follow the road just above La Cite in the bottom right hand corner. Once you cross the river the one way system keeps to the right ( blue arrows) and you follow this until you turn over the Canal du Midi as signposted for Gare SNCF.
